Some time ago, I did a Windows automatic update. In my address bar (my search engine) was MSN, which I liked. Any time I typed in what ever, MSN was the search engine. Ever since the update, it's different, something I don't like. I want MSN back up there, but I don't want to make it my "homepage". I can't find how to change it back to where it was. I am currently running Windows ME. Can anyone help?
Do you mean the search option above the address bar? If so click on it and you will see a customize option at the top that lets you choose the engine you want to use.
My address bar only shows me my current URL so I really dont know what you mean. More info or maybe a screenshot?
Screw MSN anyway. Use this. (http://toolbar.google.com/)

Well my address bar shows my current URL too, but if I clear the URL from the bar and type something like "numbnuts" then it becomes or links what I typed in to a search engine.
Google is cool, may try it out, first I have to figure out how to set it up without using it as my homepage.

Copernic is supercool if you want to act the smartarse.

Click on Tools | Internet Options | Content | Auto Complete and take it from there.

If you are using IE 6
click on the search button above the address bar, this will pop up with a box to the left of the main frame.
click on change preferences
click on change internet search behavior
then choose your options from there.

Yeah, I tried that, but it will not change my address bar search engine, just changes the search engine when I click on search.
